"A Haven For Less Work & More Play" Are your classrooms a haven for less work & more play ? Illegal access, harmful content, misuse and abuse of computer resources particularly the internet, are continuing concerns for UK Educational organisations. As the level of Internet use and new technology penetration continues to explode, traditional practice is to implement filters and firewall blocking to protect our systems. Policy Central Enterprise™ provides a powerful enhancement to this practice. Policy Central Enterprise™ (PCE) is a highly innovative Policy & Behaviour Management software solution contained in a single streamlined application. The software changes computer users’ conduct, by reinforcing the Policy of Use on networks or systems. It will allow you to transparently analyse, manage and report inappropriate traffic, flowing to or from your networked computers. PCE drastically reduces exposure to "Duty Of Care" issues, compliance issues or litigation and will realise huge cost savings in the reduction of “Cyberslacking” or inappropriate network use. |

From its origins as an internal security product, PCE has evolved into a comprehensive “Behaviour Management” solution, providing real-time discovery notification supported by discovery audit logs and an array of informative reports.
PCE provides an innovative solution for the discovery, investigation and reporting on behaviour management and Internet security threats. The intelligent data engine utilises eight violation libraries to monitor all screen and keyboard activity. All violations are recorded via screen capture and maintained within a SQL database enabling a comprehensive audit log that incorporates the images and violation details that provides detailed forensic evidence. "monitor all in-coming and outgoing activity" As PCE captures from both screen and keyboard, it can monitor all in-coming and outgoing activity such as Instant Messaging, MSN, Hotmail etc. and can ensure that traditional evasion methods such as zipped, PDF files or memory sticks are included. Once displayed on screen and a violation recognised, PCE screen captures it. A comprehensive range of standard reports are available along with export routines to Excel, HTML, and Word for Windows. Further enhanced reports can be produced via SQL query tools such as Crystal Reports etc. |

Education - Developing and enforcing an Acceptable User Policy (AUP), which provides all staff and students with a solid set of rules that clearly states what, when and how they are expected to use resources. Technology - Implementing the correct automated solution that monitors intelligently and without infringing student and staff rights, all incoming, outgoing and importantly, internally circulated communications including Instant Messaging (Hotmail) and Internet sites. |

Policy Central Enterprise™ bases it's communication on HTTP so is in essence a Web Server. Access to the Administration Console is available from any computer on your network. To detect violations PCE utilises a secure data engine currently combining eight independent violation libraries to monitor all screen and keyboard activity. All violations or attempts to access forbidden files are recorded via screen capture and are maintained within a secure database, providing visual record(s) of "violations", with current and historical log analysis available from the audit log. |

PCE can be configured to provide real time email
notification of specific violations and to send the emails to defined
people, such as Compliance Officers, Head of Audit, Security, Dept
Heads, HR etc. A percentage of misuse will come from the internet
but more importantly it will also be disguised in general offline
usage. For example; documents, spreadsheets, presentations or via
portable devices such as USB Flash Hard drives etc PCE detects &
captures (Screen Grabs) violations on unacceptable internet activity,
email, chat rooms, instant messaging and all offline Windows application
use. Access to all Internet
and desktop applications can be restricted via the PCE Console web
interface. |
