PCE Client Remote Deployment Fails
Problem 1 - Remote Deployment Tool doesn’t start
and gives error
When you try to launch the Remote Deployment Tool it doesn’t start and shows an error message.
Solution
1. If the error message says, The dynamic link library mscoree.dll could not be found… then
please check that the .Net Framework 1.1 is installed on the PCE Server computer. The PCE Server
setup automatically installs .Net Framework 1.1. Please ensure that this is not corrupted or
removed.
2. A security application like a firewall may be blocking this tool. Please refer to the user
manual of the security application for a workaround or disable it and retry the deployment.
Problem 2: The Results list of the Remote Deployment Tool shows an error
You are using the Remote Deployment Tool and when you click the Deploy Client button after
specifying the Domain Admin Credentials you get error messages in the Results list box as shown
below;

Do not have rights to deploy on machine
Solution
1. Please ensure that you have logged on to the PCE Server computer as the Domain
Administrator, while running the Remote Deployment Tool.
2. Please check if any security application like firewall is running on the remote
computer. This may prevent the Remote Deployment Tool from making any changes. If
yes, then please disable the security application on that remote machine and then
retry the deployment.
Client Already Present on machine
Solution
PCE Client is already present on the remote-computer therefore you don’t need to
redeploy the same there.
Couldn’t Deploy on machine. Reason: The network path was not found.
Solution
1. Please ensure that the remote computer is switched on.
2. Please verify that the remote computer is on the network. Also, that the remote
computer and the PCE Server computer are in the same domain (or trusted).
3. Please check if any security application like firewall is running on the remote
computer. This may prevent the Remote Deployment Tool from making any changes. If
yes, then please disable the security application on that remote machine and then
retry the deployment.
Problem 3: No error messages, but the PCE Client is not actually deployed.
Solution
1. Please ensure that you have selected the correct executable in the Select DeployClient.exe
text box of the Remote Deployment Tool. You must enter the path of DeployClient.exe
in the following format and use the share path not the file path;
\\PCEServer\pceclient\DeployClient.exe
2. Please verify that the pceclient folder is ‘shared’ on the PCE Server computer
and you have given Full Control to Everyone.
