Attempting to download an available update causes 'unable to cached object of type 'web proxy wrapper' error' to be displayed.
Problem - Attempting to download an available update within PCE Console causes the folliowing error to be displayed: 'unable to cached object of type web proxy wrapper to type system.net web proxy' and the download fails.
Solution
This problem is caused by IIS being 'bound' to the wrong version of .NET Framework. It is likely that other Framework versions (v2, v3) are present on the PCE Server computer and IIS must be bound to Framework 1.1 for this action in PCE to function.
On the PCE Server, Go to Start and then Run.
Type inetmgr in the Run box and press return or OK.
Expand the server name and the web sites tab to display the 'default web site'.
Right-click on the 'default web site' and select 'Properties'.
Navigate to the 'ASP.NET' tab and observe the settings.
Ensure that the ASP.NET (Framework) version is set to 1.1.4322.
Select 'OK' to confirm and restart the server to activate this setting.
The download procedure should function normally.
